Jane Adams was born in Leicester and attended Leicester University. Two children and a variety of jobs later, including singer in a folk rock band, she became a writer. She has had 21 books published by Pan Macmillan, Severn House and Allison & Busby. These novels are loosely categorised as crime, but usually have a cross genre influence. Her first book, The Greenway (Macmillan, 1995), was short-listed for both the John Creasey and Authors Club awards for best first novel. The Greenway and several other novels have been sold, in translation, in a dozen different countries. She teaches on a variety of creative writing courses and appraises manuscripts for various agencies. She is also an artist and photographer.
