Fellow at University of Westminster (Harrow), 2011/12

Esther Selsdon is a novelist and travel writer who has also written for film, radio and magazines as well as for most of the UK broadsheet newspapers. She has profiled artists and performers for US Vogue, while her novel Unsustainable Positions (1996) won the Dutch Book Club's 'Good Read' award as well as Waterstones' 'Book of the Month'. Her travel writing has received official commendations from, amongst others, the Institute of South American Journalism and the Syrian Foreign Ministry while her radio play How to be Happy in Hounslow won the BBC Write Out Loud award and was subsequently broadcast on Radio 4 at an unearthly hour. She has written and edited a wide variety of biographies and anthologies one of which (Conspiracy Encyclopedia) is, disturbingly, on a Harvard University official reading list. She has ghost written for celebrities and obscurities and has taught English and creative writing in London state primary and secondary schools. She is married with two children.
