Jill Dawson is the author of six novels: Trick of the Light, Magpie, Fred & Edie, Wild Boy, Watch Me Disappear and The Great Lover (forthcoming)  all are published by Sceptre. Her novels have been translated into a dozen languages, nominated for the Orange Prize and the Whitbread Novel Award, and her poetry won her an Eric Gregory Award in l992. In addition she is the editor of six anthologies: The Virago Book of Wicked Verse, The Virago Book of Love Letters, School Tales, Gas & Air, How Do I look? and Wild Ways. Ruby was the Creative Writing Fellow at the University of East Anglia and taught on the MA programme. Currently she runs a mentoring scheme for writers called Gold Dust. In 2006 she was awarded an honorary doctorate for her work from Anglia Ruskin University.
