I was influenced by Ntozake Shange’s seamless style and the choral element in Ted Hughes’ Oedipus. I was influenced by Ntozake Shange’s seamless style and the choral element in Ted Hughes’ Oedipus. Not long after that I began to read a lot of books by black American women authors.
