About
Beverley Jones is a former journalist from South Wales. She began her writing career with The Western Mail in Cardiff before working as a broadcast journalist for BBC Wales Today.
She covered all aspects of crime reporting, as well as human interest stories and features, before ‘defecting’ to the opposition as a press officer for South Wales Police. After participating in criminal investigations, security operations and emergency planning, she channelled her insights into the murkier side of human nature by becoming a crime novelist, published by Little, Brown and Company. Lies You Tell, Make Him Pay, Fear the Dark, Where She Went and Halfway, published under the name B. E. Jones, are all female-led, standalone thrillers, focussing on contemporary Wales and how people tell stories about themselves and their questionable choices. Her sixth novel, Wilderness, following an unhappy couple on a deadly road trip through North America’s national parks, was adapted into a six-part TV series for Amazon Prime, starring Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.
The Beach House, set on Oregon’s dramatic Pacific Northwest coast, is her seventh crime novel, published under the name Beverley Jones.
When not discovering new ways to distress and murder people in print, she is a member of Crime Cymru, the Welsh crime writing collective, and part of the planning team for the Gŵyl CRIME CYMRU Festival, Wales’s first international crime fiction festival.
She lives with her husband in South Wales, is an unpaid PA to a lively wire-fox terrier and can be found on social media @bevjoneswriting.
