About
Lisa Parry is a playwright, screenwriter and audio writer. Her play NOT was recently read at The Other Place, Stratford, having been selected for the RSC’s 37 Plays project. Other theatre work includes The Order of the Object (Theatr Clwyd), The Merthyr Stigmatist (Sherman/Theatre Uncut; shortlisted for Theatre Uncut’s inaugural Political Playwriting Award and published by Nick Hern Books), Lump (Dirty Protest/Paines Plough), Alex (The Miniaturists, Arcola), 2023 (Chapter, with extracts later performed at the Barbican, London).
Lisa’s audio play Tremolo (Illumine/Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru) was shortlisted for best original drama in the BBC Audio Awards 2023. She has also written Deuce for Illumine Theatre.
Screenwriting includes Inside the Piano Shop (Hyperobject Studio, London), released as part of the feature film The Impact. Lisa is currently developing The Merthyr Stigmatist as a feature film and is a member of BAFTA. She is the co-artistic director of Illumine Theatre, a TEDx speaker and an RLF Fellow at Swansea University.
