About

Morgen Witzel is the author or coauthor of twenty-eight books and several thousand articles, essays, reviews, commentaries and other short articles. Most of have been on subjects relating to history, management and leadership. Two books, Tata: the evolution of a corporate brand and Doing Business in China, have been international bestsellers. His articles have appeared in the Financial Times, South China Morning Post, Forbes India, Los Angeles Times, Toronto Globe and Mail, and other newspapers and magazines.

In partnership with Marilyn Livingstone, he also writes detective fiction under the pseudonym A. J. MacKenzie. The books are set on Romney Marsh during the French Revolution, and feature smuggling and espionage against a backdrop of troubled and uncertain times. The first novel, The Body on the Doorstep, was published in 2016; the second, The Body in the Ice, launches in April 2017. More books in the series will follow.

Morgen Witzel was briefly a journalist with a regional newspaper in Western Canada before studying medieval history at the University of Victoria, BC. Since moving to the UK in 1987, he has worked as a freelance writer. He teaches occasional courses in management and leadership at universities including Exeter, Edinburgh, Audencia Nantes and Ljubljana, and acts as a consultant and mentor for other writers, particularly those just starting out on their writing careers. He lives in West Devon with his wife and writing partner, Marilyn Livingstone. As well as writing fiction, they are currently researching and writing a book on the Battle of Poitiers.
