Alexander Games is an author and teacher. He worked for the London Evening Standard for 10 years, writing features and reviewing comedy. He has since written and reviewed for the Independent on Sunday and the Financial Times, as well as for the Guardian, the Sunday Times and the Scotsman.

He has written two biographies and a bestselling book based on the BBC TV series about the English language, Balderdash & Piffle. He teaches Latin and Greek.
