Beth Miller
Non-fiction writer, Novelist
About
Beth Miller is a novelist and nonfiction writer. She has published seven novels, four with Bookouture. These include the Kindle top-forty bestseller, The Missing Letters of Mrs Bright (2020), and The Woman Who Came Back to Life (2022), which has been published in seven languages. Her most recent novel is The Friendship List (2025), in which Kay’s oldest friend Rose unaccountably dumps her, sending Kay on a journey through her past relationships to find out if she has been a bad friend.
Two of Beth’s earlier novels were published by Ebury, and she has also published one funny novel – Starstruck – with small independent press Farrago (2021). The linking factor across all seven novels is that they feature multi-layered female characters, who are defined by friendship and career rather than their love-life.
Beth’s two nonfiction books, published by Summersdale, are For the Love of The Archers (2022), a guide to the popular long-running radio drama, and For the Love of Shakespeare (2016), an accessible guide to his plays, poetry, life and legacy.
Alongside writing books, Beth teaches on the Creative Writing and Publishing MA at West Dean College, and on the Sussex-based Creative Writing Programme. She also teaches regularly for the Arvon Foundation, and works as a coach and mentor for other writers. She previously worked as a journalist, a sexual health educator and a psychology lecturer, and has a PhD in psychology.
