Esther Selsdon

Esther Selsdon is a novelist, travel writer and journalist. She writes for film, radio and many of the UK’s broadsheet newspapers as well as US Vogue. Her novel Unsustainable Positions (1996) won the Dutch Book Club’s good read award and Waterstones’ book of the month. Her travel writing for the Observer and Financial Times has received official commendations from the Institute of South American Journalism and the Syrian Foreign Ministry. Her radio play How to be Happy in Hounslow won the BBC’s Write Out Loud award.

She has ghost-written autobiographies of both celebrities and obscurities (several of which have been optioned as feature-film scripts) and she collaborates with a number of visual artists to create text-enhanced sculpture — including the first commissioned piece for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. She also works as a literacy and writing mentor in London secondary schools. She is a fluent French and German speaker and is married with two children.
