About

Spenser Frearson has been writing drama and screenplays since he was very young. Over the last thirty years he has had a wide-ranging career in television drama, writing for series such as EastEnders, The Bill, Totally Frank and Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married. He has also created and developed many new series and in 2003 he was a recipient of the BBC’s Dennis Potter Screenwriting award for We’re All Going to Die.

He has also worked for Euroscript, an organisation dedicated to improving standards in screenwriting, giving feedback and one-to-one sessions to aspiring screenwriters.

Outside of writing, he studied philosophy at Magdalene College, Cambridge and he is a qualified science teacher, occasionally tutoring in physics, maths, philosophy and chess. He lives with his teenage son in a village in Hampshire, but runs away to London at weekends.
