Plot Twist: Watch the second Making Writing Work webinar

  • 18 May, 2026

Last month the second webinar in The Royal Literary Fund’s new series – Making Writing Work: Plot Twist – what to do when a writer’s financial model breaks explored the support available to writers when a change in circumstances impacts income.

Hosted by multi-award-winning writer and broadcaster Nick Ahad (BBC Radio 4 Front Row), the discussion saw our Head of Grants, Justine Palmer, join Robyn Law, Head of Charities at Society of Authors to talk through the grants, resources and benefits available to writers.

Stay tuned for details about our next webinar, which will explore the reality of the writing landscape for today’s screenwriters and dramatists.

You can also watch our first Making Writing Work webinar, The reality and identity of a professional writer today,  here on YouTube. Part One was also hosted by Nick Ahad and featured writers Emily Itami, Derek Keilty and Karen McCarthy Woolf with additional insight from Federica Fiorillo, International Rights and Policy Manager at the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS)
