What is repetitive strain injury?
“We use the medically imprecise but popular term, RSI, to describe pain in the hands, wrists, arms and upper body associated with computer use and other types of employment or occupation that demand repetitive action, for example, assembly-line work or playing a musical instrument. The major symptom in most cases is severe and persistent pain in the hands and arms; there can also be tingling, numbness and cramping in the neck, shoulders and back. In many people the symptoms are diffuse and do not usually respond well to either conventional or alternative treatments.”
